Tournament Format

  • Bracket size will be adjusted based on the number of registered competitors in each class.
  • Tournament seeding and first-round matchups will be determined by qualifying ETs.

Competition Classes

The Street Car Shootout will feature two competition classes:

Class 1

Street Class

10.00 seconds and slower in the ¼ mile.

Class 2

Open Class

Quicker than 10.00 seconds in the ¼ mile.

Qualifying

  • Each competitor will receive one official qualifying pass.
  • Qualifying elapsed times (ETs) will confirm competition class and determine tournament seeding.
  • Competitors unable to complete a qualifying pass due to mechanical issues may be placed at the bottom of their assigned class bracket at the Race Director's discretion.

Tournament Seeding

  • Competitors will be seeded within their respective class based on their qualifying ET, with the fastest qualifier receiving the highest seed.
  • If the number of competitors in a class does not allow for a standard tournament bracket (8, 16, etc.), a Play-In Round will be used.
  • The lowest-seeded competitors will compete in the Play-In Round (if necessary) to reduce the field to the required bracket size. The number of Play-In races will vary depending on the total number of competitors.
  • Winners of the Play-In Round advance to the official bracket, while losers are eliminated.
  • Once the field has been reduced to the required bracket size, the tournament will continue using a standard seeded single-elimination bracket, with the highest qualifiers facing the Play-In winners.
  • Time slips are used only for qualifying, class assignment, and tournament seeding. They will not determine the winner of any elimination race.
  • If a car goes 0.201 seconds or quicker than the number one qualifier ET, car will be automatically disqualified. For 10 sec + class only.
The Race Director reserves the right to reclassify any vehicle based on its known performance, previous event results, vehicle setup, or qualifying performance to preserve fair competition.
